Mr. Anurag Srivastava, a 1992-batch IAS officer and Additional Chief Secretary of the Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department, has been selected for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2023. He will be recognized in the Innovation State category for his pioneering efforts in integrating solar power into Jal Jeevan Mission projects in Uttar Pradesh.
The announcement was conveyed by Mr. V. Srinivas (1989-batch IAS officer), Secretary of the Union Ministry of Personnel, in a communication to Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh (1988-batch IAS officer). Mr. Srinivas commended Mr. Srivastava’s innovative approach and dedicated efforts in implementing solar-powered water schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The initiative, which leverages solar power to enhance water supply schemes, has been lauded as a model of sustainable and efficient resource utilization. This achievement reflects Mr. Srivastava’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in public administration.
The award will be presented by the Government of India in recognition of his exceptional contribution to advancing the goals of the Jal Jeevan Mission and promoting sustainable development in the state.
