Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service officer Rajiv Kumar has been selected for induction into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) under the State Civil Service promotion quota for the 2025 selection year, following a notification issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on August 14, 2026.
The DoPT notification provides for filling the IAS promotion-quota vacancy for the state civil service category with Kumar’s name. The selection list was prepared on July 13, 2026, and received approval on August 14.
Rajiv Kumar Sole Name in 2025 Selection List
According to the notification, Rajiv Kumar is the sole officer named in the selection list for the relevant promotion-quota vacancy.
The selection clears the way for his induction into the Himachal Pradesh cadre of the IAS.
Currently Serving in Key Administrative Roles
Rajiv Kumar is currently serving as Additional Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister and Director of Information and Public Relations in Himachal Pradesh, according to Amar Ujala’s report on the notification.
He is a senior officer of the Himachal Pradesh Administrative Service and has held various administrative assignments in the state.
DoPT Notification Confirms Promotion-Quota Selection
The latest development follows the prescribed process for induction of eligible State Civil Service officers into the IAS against vacancies earmarked under the promotion quota.
The DoPT notification formalises Kumar’s selection for the 2025 selection year, with the selection list having been prepared in July and approved in August.
