Secretary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, Ms. Leena Nandan, has been given the additional charge of Secretary, Labour and Employment. She will hold the additional charge from August 16, 2023, to August 23, 2023, the period when Ms. Arti Ahuja (IAS:1990:OR), the incumbent Secretary of Labour and Employment, will be on leave.
The decision was confirmed through an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday, August 14, 2023. The competent authority has granted approval for this assignment of additional charge.
Ms. Leena Nandan is an IAS officer of 1987 batch and UP cadre. She is also an author of several books. Her latest bestseller is, Who Are These People?, a gripping thriller on civil servants.
