On March 11th, the government of Tamil Nadu nominated the senior bureaucrat, Ms. B Jothi Nirmalasamy (2002 batch IAS officer), as the new Commissioner of the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission, succeeding Mr. V Palaniswamy.
Ms Nirmalasamy, who is presently serving as secretary in the Department of Commercial Taxes and Registration, shall occupy her new designation as State Election Commissioner for five years or until she attains 65 years of age, whichever transpires earlier.
