IAS officer Rupanjali Karthik has been made the Director, Department of Commerce. Ms. Karthik is an IAS of 2008 batch of Punjab cadre. Her tenure in the department will be for five years from the date she will join, said the order of the Department of Personnel and Training.
Earlier, she has served as Special Secretary, (Department of School Education), Special Secretary (Department of Science, Technology & Environment, Agriculture & Farmer Welfare) and Mission Director, Directorate of Ground Water Management in Chandigarh.
