AI Responsibility Pledge Campaign

The nationwide AI Responsibility Pledge campaign was launched under the IndiaAI Mission in collaboration with Intel India on February 16.

Hosted on a dedicated portal, the campaign encouraged citizens to commit to the ethical, inclusive and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence. Participants reflected on core principles including:

  • Data privacy
  • Transparency
  • Accountability
  • Combating misinformation

Through scenario-based questions, the initiative aimed to strengthen India’s vision of building a trustworthy and human-centric AI ecosystem. Participants who completed the pledge received a digital badge and access to AI learning pathways.

Minister Highlights Youth Participation

Addressing the media, Ashwini Vaishnaw credited Narendra Modi’s vision for inspiring youth engagement in responsible AI use.

“It is his vision that inspired us to reach out to colleges, engage with faculty members, and encourage students to take this pledge to use AI as a tool for the good of society,” the Minister said.

He applauded the more than 2.5 lakh students who participated, noting that the achievement far exceeded the initial target of 5,000 pledges.

Milestone in Citizen-Led Digital Responsibility

The record-setting campaign reflects growing public awareness around ethical AI adoption. The Minister described it as a major milestone in citizen-led digital responsibility and a demonstration of India’s commitment to shaping global AI discourse with a focus on inclusion, ethics and public trust.

The achievement positions India at the forefront of responsible AI advocacy, reinforcing its broader digital transformation and innovation agenda.
