New Delhi: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has announced that it will host the International Conference on Green Hydrogen (ICGH 2025) on November 11-12 at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This high-profile conference will bring together senior government officials, industry leaders, technical experts, and delegates to explore avenues for scaling up India’s green hydrogen production and infrastructure, in line with the country’s ambitious clean energy goals.

The event will witness the participation of several prominent Union Ministers, including Pralhad Joshi (Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution), Hardeep Singh Puri (Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas), and Dr Jitendra Singh (Minister of State for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences).

A Critical Forum for Scaling Green Hydrogen Production

The International Conference on Green Hydrogen is poised to be a landmark event, focusing on accelerating the implementation of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM). The conference will provide a platform to discuss the most effective pathways for increasing domestic green hydrogen production, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting market demand. Key discussions will revolve around practical solutions for building the necessary ecosystem to support green hydrogen as a viable energy source in India.

Key Topics and Sessions at ICGH 2025

Sessions at ICGH 2025 will cover critical topics related to green hydrogen development, including:

  • Financing Mechanisms for green hydrogen projects
  • Green Hydrogen Certification Standards to ensure quality and sustainability
  • Port Readiness and Export Infrastructure to facilitate global trade
  • Workforce Skill Development for green hydrogen technologies
  • Localisation of Manufacturing Technologies to boost domestic production

The event will also focus on identifying region-specific opportunities and market applications across multiple geographies, paving the way for a more customized approach to green hydrogen deployment.

Cross-Sectoral Participation to Strengthen Policy Alignment

The conference will see participation from senior officials across various government ministries, including the Ministries of Power, Ports, Steel, Fertilisers, and Science & Technology, reflecting the cross-sectoral importance of green hydrogen in India’s industrial and energy strategy. This multi-ministry participation underscores the vast potential of green hydrogen to transform not only the energy sector but also manufacturing, export competitiveness, port operations, and scientific research.

International Collaboration and Global Networks

International participation at the conference will be robust, with delegations from organizations such as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Hydrogen Europe, the H2 Global Foundation, the Korea Hydrogen Alliance, and the Port of Rotterdam Authority. This reflects India’s increasing integration into global green hydrogen networks and markets, positioning the country as a key player in the global transition to clean energy.

Shaping India’s Green Hydrogen Future

Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary of MNRE and Chairman of SECI, emphasized the importance of the event in aligning the efforts of government, industry, and research institutions. “Green hydrogen will play a pivotal role in India’s transition towards a clean, affordable, and domestically produced energy system. The sector is still evolving, and ICGH 2025 will provide clarity on key issues such as technology choices, infrastructure requirements, and market demand creation,” said Sarangi.

The conference aims to provide a roadmap for the green hydrogen sector, addressing issues like financing structures and infrastructure investment, which remain crucial to accelerating the transition beyond pilot projects and into large-scale implementation.

Registration and Event Details

The conference will span two full days from November 11-12, 2025. Registration for the event and detailed session schedules can be found on the official website at www.icgh.in.

With global and national leaders in green hydrogen technology, policy, and industry in attendance, ICGH 2025 promises to be a key event in India’s clean energy journey, providing a critical platform for shaping the future of green hydrogen and its role in achieving India’s net-zero emissions targets by 2070.
