New Delhi: Senior commanders of the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) will meet in New Delhi from September 17 to 19 for the 43rd Coast Guard Commanders’ Conference, the service’s apex annual forum for reviewing strategic, operational and organisational priorities.
Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth will address the senior leadership on the opening day of the three-day conference at the Coast Guard Headquarters.
Maritime Security and Operational Readiness on Agenda
The conference will bring together senior ICG commanders from across the country to deliberate on current maritime security requirements and the Coast Guard’s operational preparedness.

Key areas of discussion include:
- Current and emerging maritime security challenges
- Operational readiness and deployment of resources

Coast Guard to Review Modernisation Roadmap
The commanders will also examine measures aimed at strengthening the Coast Guard’s capabilities and ensuring effective deployment of resources.
The conference will provide a forum to review the roadmap for capability enhancement and force modernisation, alongside broader organisational priorities.
Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat in Focus
Indigenisation will be another key focus of the conference, with commanders reviewing initiatives being undertaken under the Make in India programme.
The deliberations will also align with the broader Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, with emphasis on building a modern and future-ready maritime security force.
The three-day conference is expected to provide a platform for the Coast Guard’s senior leadership to review operational priorities and strengthen its preparedness to safeguard India’s maritime interests and national security.
