Fourteen Officers of Punjab Police including 5 IPS officers have been awarded the DGP Commendation Disc as a praise for their role in ensuring tight security arrangements during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Jalandhar. This was the first visit of Mr. Narendra Modi to Punjab after the controversial security breach during his visit to Ferozepur on January 5. On this occasion DGP Punjab VK Bhawra said, “The Disc is being awarded to boost the morale of the officers.”
The officers who have been awarded the DGP Commendation Disc are, Hoshiarpur SSP Dhruman H Nimbale, Jalandhar Rural SSP Satinder Singh, AIG Counter Intelligence Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh, Commandant 7th Battalion Rajpal Singh, Commandant 27th Battalion Opinderjit Singh, AIG Gurmeet Singh, Commandant 80th Battalion Jagmohan Singh, DCP Jalandhar Jaskaran Teja, AIG Rajeshwar Sidhu, Manjeet Singh Dhesi, ADCP Jalandhar Suhail Quasim Mir, DSP Rakesh Yadav, Inspector Vivek Chandar and SSP Kapoorthala Dayama Harish Omprakash.
