2011 batch IPS officer of AGMUT cadre Shankar Choudhary, Dwarka’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, has been relieved from his duty, hours after an alleged pub brawl took place inside a pub in which a woman was allegedly injured.
Police commissioner Rakesh Asthana issued an order in which he also asked Chaudhary to report to headquarters.
According to reports, the IPS officer posted in Delhi allegedly created a scene at a birthday party and threw glasses around. The glass reportedly injured a woman guest.
The incident took place on Friday night at Kailash Colony inside a pub named Uncultured. However, no complaint was lodged by the woman and she claimed in a video message that there was a “communication gap”.
After brawl, an order was issued by the Delhi Police, removing the IPS officer Chaudhary, who was in controversy, from the post of DCP of Dwarka district. An order was issued on behalf of DCP (Headquarters) Mahesh Batra that on the recommendation of Delhi Police Commissioner, IPS Shankar Chaudhary of 2011 batch has been ordered to be removed from DCP Dwarka and report to the Police Headquarters with immediate effect.
