The Gujarat government has sent a list of candidates’ names to fill vacant posts for Election Commission of India’s (ECI) approval.
After the enforcement of model code of conduct, every appointment and promotion needs ECI’s approval for the same. The names were forwarded to ECI on Friday. This is the standard procedure that has to be followed after the declaration of Model Code of Conduct to maintain the purity of electoral process.
Some posts have been lying vacant for quite some time, like the post of Surat Commissioner of Police which is also expected to be filled up soon. It has been vacant for two months. now The posts of three range IGs, Kheda SP, and Mehsana SP have also been vacant, which are expected to be filled up by next week after ECI’s approval.
