1990 batch IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, Mr. Daljit Singh Chaudhary, has been appointed as the new Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
He is presently working as Special Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his appointment as the DG, SSB for a period up to November 30, 2025 i.e. the date of his superannuation, the order said.
SSB personnel are deployed on India’s borders with Nepal and Bhutan. The post of Director General in the unit was vacant for a long time.
Earlier this month, IPS Rashmi Shukla was sent back to Maharashtra cadre. After that, the post of DG of SSB was lying vacant. Ms. Shukla is now the Director General of Police (DGP) of Maharashtra.
