On Monday, the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department issued an order promoting two Inspectors General of Police to the rank of Additional Director General of Police, deeming their current position to be the equivalent of an Additional Director General of Police (ADGP)
The government appointed IGP Jammu, IPS officer Mr. Anand Jain (1999 batch), and IGP CID Mr. Nitish Kumar, Jammu zone, as Additional Director Generals of Police. (ADGP).
The order stated that both officers should continue in the present position, with the post declared equivalent in rank and status to that of ADGP until held by them.
