1987 batch senior IPS officer Alok Mohan has been appointed as the new chief (DGP) of the police force in Karnataka.
The state government in a notification appointed Alok Mohan as the Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP) for the state police force.
Before this, Mr Mohan held the positions of Director General of Police (DGP), Director General of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and Director of Civil Defence.
He had been assigned the additional charge of DG & IGP on May 21, following the appointment of his predecessor Praveen Sood as the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
