The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), upon recommendation from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, has mandated senior IPS officer Daljit Singh Chaudhary to assume charge as the new Director General (DG) of the Border Security Force (BSF). Officer Chaudhary has been appointed to the post for a tenure up to the date of his retirement on 30th November 2025 or until further orders, whichever transpires earlier.
Mr. Chaudhary, a 1990-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IPS officer, had been serving as the DG of Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) with an additional charge of DG BSF. Officer Chaudhary replaced IPS Nitin Agrawal (1989 batch) as the DG of BSF after the latter was repatriated to his parent cadre in Kerala. Officer Chaudhary had earlier held additional charge of the NSG.
