The Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government is going to give new year gift to UP cadre IPS officers.
In the meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, the government has given its consent to provide promotion to 77 IPS officers, which includes six posts of DG, two of ADG, five of IG and 33 posts of DIG.
Apart from this, consent was given to provide selection grade to 31 IPS officers. Sources say that the envelopes of five IPS officers remained closed.
Promotion orders of IPS officers will be issued soon.
Apart from 1990 batch IPS officer Prashant Kumar, posted on the post of Special DG Law and Order, consent has been given to promote six officers including Tilotama Verma of the same batch to the post of DG. Tilotama Verma has recently returned from central deputation and is waiting.
The 1991 batch IPS Rajeev Krishna, Abhay Kumar Prasad and Prem Chandra Meena, posted as ADG, and 1992 batch IPS Dipesh Juneja will also be promoted to the post of DG.
The tenure of acting DGP Vijay Kumar and DG SK Mathur will be completed in January 2024, after which Prashant Kumar will be promoted from Special DG to the post of DG. Apart from this, Dr. Sanjeev Gupta posted as Secretary Home and Ramit Sharma posted as Police Commissioner Prayagraj will be promoted from IG to ADG. Both are 1999 batch IPS officers.
2006 batch IPS officers Akash Kulhari, Dharmendra Singh, LR Kumar, Abdul Hameed and Shalabh Mathur will be promoted from DIG to IG.
40 IPS officers of 2010 batch will become DIG. Names are given below-
