An Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from Rajasthan Ms. Preeti Jain has been posted in the Union Finance Ministry. It is the first time when any IPS has been posted in the Union Ministry of Finance. Generally IPS officers get posting in police or para military forces like CBI, ITBP, CRPF, BSF.
According to some officials PM Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman have taken this decision in view of IPS Preeti’s special qualification in economics.
Preeti Jain, an IPS officer of 2009 batch is a resident of Rajasthan (Sriganganagar) and has MPhil in Economics. She has also been the Superintendent of Police of Tonk, Hanumangarh and Dausa districts. She will report directly to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
