The Karnataka government has approved the voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) of former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and Additional Director General of Police Bhaskar Rao after more than a year. He is an IPS of 1990 batch and Karnataka cadre.
Rao applied for VRS in September last year. In April this year, he joined the Aam Admi Party (AAP) in Karnataka after quitting the uniformed service after more than three decades. In June, the AAP appointed Rao as Karnataka’s Vice-President.
