New Delhi: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) celebrated its 40th Foundation Day at its Business Centre in New Delhi, marking nearly four decades of pivotal contributions to renewable energy financing in India. The event reflected on IREDA’s journey, achievements, and future plans to strengthen both domestic and international green energy initiatives.
CMD Pradip Kumar Das Highlights IREDA’s Transformative Journey
Addressing employees through a virtual platform, Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA, reflected on the organisation’s 39-year journey. He acknowledged the dedication, professionalism, and integrity of employees who have been instrumental in building IREDA’s reputation as a leading renewable energy finance institution.
Das noted that the last five to six years have been particularly transformative, characterized by strong growth, enhanced transparency, robust systems, and improved corporate governance.

Employee Skill Development Key to Future Growth
Emphasizing the importance of human resources, Das stated that employees are IREDA’s greatest asset. He stressed the need for continuous training and capacity-building initiatives to strengthen employee skills. According to him, empowering employees would enhance the organisation’s ability to contribute effectively to India’s renewable energy sector.
Expanding Role in International Green Financing
IREDA is gradually expanding beyond domestic operations through IREDA Global Green Energy Finance IFSC Limited at GIFT City. This initiative is expected to enhance the organisation’s global footprint in international green financing, positioning it as a key player in sustainable energy funding worldwide.
Senior officials, including Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), attended the event. CMD Das also expressed gratitude to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and other government stakeholders for their continued support in IREDA’s growth journey.
