Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved the transfer of around 2,500 square meters of land for the development of a modern sports complex in Ayodhya. The project will be implemented under the Chief Minister Vaishwik Nagarodaya Yojana, aimed at strengthening urban infrastructure and promoting sports among youth.

The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting in Lucknow, where the state government approved the proposal to allocate Nazul land to the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation for building the sports facility.

Land Allocation for Sports Infrastructure

Under the approved proposal, about 2,500 square meters of Nazul land located in the Vashishtha Kund area of Ayodhya will be transferred to the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation.

The land falls under seven different gata numbers — 1026, 1027, 1029, 1030, 1031, 1033 (part), and 1035, located in Chak No. 4, Mohalla Vashishtha Kund, Pargana Haveli Awadh, Tehsil Sadar.

According to the government’s decision, the land will be provided free of cost, though it will be subject to certain conditions and restrictions regarding its usage.

Proposal Initiated by District Administration

The proposal for the land transfer was originally submitted by the District Magistrate of Ayodhya after receiving a request from the Municipal Commissioner.

Officials stated that the proposal highlighted the need to expand sports infrastructure in the city, which is witnessing rapid development and an increasing demand for modern recreational facilities for youth and residents.

Boost to Sports Facilities for Youth

The upcoming sports complex is expected to encourage sports participation among young people while also providing improved infrastructure for training and recreational activities.

The facility is likely to include modern sports amenities, helping local athletes access better training environments and promoting a healthy and active lifestyle in the region.

The government believes the project will contribute to community development and youth engagement while supporting Ayodhya’s broader urban growth.

Government Clarifies Special Approval

State officials clarified that the free land allocation has been granted as a special case and should not be considered a precedent for similar requests in the future.

The decision reflects the government’s focus on developing sports infrastructure while ensuring careful management of public land resources.

Part of Urban Development Vision

The sports complex will be developed under the Chief Minister Vaishwik Nagarodaya Yojana, a state initiative designed to improve urban infrastructure, civic amenities, and recreational facilities across cities in Uttar Pradesh.

With Ayodhya emerging as a major religious and cultural hub, projects like this are expected to enhance the city’s overall infrastructure and provide more opportunities for sports and community activities.
