Uttar Pradesh Govt Introduces Online Booking for 21 Circuit Houses and 334 Guest Houses Across the State

Digital portal offers real-time room availability, online payments, and first-come-first-serve access, enhancing transparency and public convenience
Indian Masterminds Stories

Lucknow: In a major step toward digital governance and transparency, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched an online booking system for its circuit houses and guest houses. This initiative allows users to book rooms in 21 circuit houses and 334 guest houses across the state through a digital portal, making the process faster, simpler, and more transparent.

Digital Booking System for Circuit Houses

The Public Works Department (PWD) has implemented a web-based Circuit House Information System under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, in line with his zero-tolerance policy toward corruption.

Key features of the new system include:

  • Real-time room availability: Users can check live status of rooms across all circuit houses and guest houses.
  • Ease of booking: Earlier, reservations were made manually via calls or emails. Now the process is fully digital.
  • User-friendly interface: Citizens can select dates, check availability, and make bookings conveniently online.

Online Payment and Digital Record Management

The new system also provides fully online payment and record-keeping:

  • Applicants upload identity proof or authorized documents during booking.
  • Payments are processed exclusively online, ensuring secure transactions.
  • Confirmation receipts are sent via email and SMS immediately after payment.
  • All transactions are stored in a digital ledger, simplifying revenue monitoring and reducing the risk of errors or mismanagement.

Centralized Dashboard for Real-Time Monitoring

The PWD has introduced a centralized monitoring dashboard accessible at both state and district levels. This allows officials to:

  • Track real-time bookings and revenue collection.
  • Monitor the utilization of government properties efficiently.
  • Increase accountability and transparency in the booking process.

Officials say this digital system will improve government asset utilization, boost revenue, and provide easy access for the public to available accommodations.

First-Come, First-Serve for General Public

While some rooms are reserved for VIP visits and emergency official purposes, the remaining rooms will be available to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • Users can book rooms at the official portal: https://www.guesthouse.uppwd.gov.in.
  • In special cases, district administration permission allows on-the-spot bookings via the portal.
  • District magistrates reserve the right to cancel bookings if required for administrative or VIP purposes.

Key Benefits of the New System

  • Fully digital and transparent booking process.
  • Real-time availability check for all circuit houses and guest houses.
  • Secure online payment and digital record management.
  • Enhanced monitoring and accountability at state and district levels.
  • Easier access for public use, ensuring efficient utilization of government properties.

This initiative by the UP government is a step forward in modernizing public services, reducing bureaucratic delays, and providing citizens with convenient, transparent, and efficient access to state-run accommodations.
