In a significant administrative overhaul aimed at boosting operational effectiveness and public service delivery, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Manoj Sinha, has ordered the transfer and posting of 21 senior police officers across the Union Territory.
Issued under Government Order No. 484-Home of 2025, the reshuffle involves 7 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from batches ranging from 1994 to 2017, and 14 Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) officers from batches between 1999 and 2004. This strategic move reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening institutional leadership and improving law and order in key areas.
IPS Officers: Dynamic Leadership from AGMUT Cadre Realigned
Senior IPS officer Mr. Abdul Ghani Mir (AGMUT 1994) has been appointed as Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence, and SDRF, J&K. Mr. Mir, who was recently promoted to the rank of DGP and previously served as IGP Kashmir Range, takes over from Mr. Alok Kumar, who held the position as an additional charge.
