Srinagar/Jammu: The Jammu & Kashmir Government has issued postings for seven Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers of the 2024 batch, AGMUT cadre, assigning them to various forest divisions and headquarters offices across the Union Territory.
The postings have been made by the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment through Government Order No. 185-JK(FST) of 2026, dated August 24, 2026.
According to the order, the officers have been posted with immediate effect “in the interest of administration and for the smooth functioning of the Department.”

The seven officers and their new places of posting are:
- Ms. Aseem, IFS — Jammu Forest Division Office
- Ms. Anusha Kolli, IFS — Kathua Forest Division Office
- Mr. Chandrabhushan, IFS — Udhampur Forest Division Office
- Ms. Sana Fayaz, IFS — Sindh Forest Division Office
- Mr. Anubhav Jain, IFS — Office of the Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Kashmir
- Mr. Navdeep Singh, IFS — Office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) & HoFF, J&K
- Mr. Shubham Kanoujia, IFS — Office of the Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Jammu
Officers Posted Across Jammu, Kashmir and Key Forest Offices
The postings cover several important forest formations of Jammu & Kashmir.
IFS Aseem has been posted to the Jammu Forest Division, while Anusha Kolli will serve in the Kathua Forest Division. Mr Chandrabhushan has been assigned to the Udhampur Forest Division, giving three of the newly posted officers field-level responsibilities in the Jammu region.
In the Kashmir region, Sana Fayaz has been posted to the Sindh Forest Division, while Anubhav Jain has been assigned to the Office of the Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir.
Two officers have been posted at senior forest headquarters. Navdeep Singh will work in the Office of the PCCF & HoFF, J&K, while Shubham Kanoujia has been posted to the Office of the CCF, Jammu.
Focus on Field and Headquarters Administration
The latest postings provide the 2024-batch officers with exposure to both field administration and departmental headquarters functioning.
Posting officers to individual forest divisions is particularly important for developing experience in forest management, conservation and implementation of departmental programmes at the ground level.
At the same time, assignments in the offices of the PCCF and CCF provide exposure to the broader administrative and policy framework governing the Union Territory’s forest establishment.
Order Issued by Forest, Ecology and Environment Department
The postings have been ordered by the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment, Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
The order has been issued by order of the Lieutenant Governor and is signed by Sheetal Nanda, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment.
The government order specifically states that the postings are being made with immediate effect and are intended to facilitate the smooth functioning of the department.
Copies Sent to Senior Officials
Copies of the government order have been forwarded to several senior authorities and concerned offices.
These include the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, the Additional Chief Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests/HoFF, J&K, and the Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor.
The order has also been circulated among other officials concerned with the implementation of the postings.
Seven Officers Join J&K Forest Administration
The latest order marks the assignment of seven young IFS officers of the 2024 AGMUT batch to different responsibilities within Jammu & Kashmir’s forest administration.
With postings spread across Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur and Sindh forest divisions, as well as the offices of the CCF and PCCF, the officers will now form part of the department’s field and administrative structure.
The move is aimed at strengthening the forest administration across the Union Territory and ensuring that the newly inducted officers gain experience in both territorial forest management and senior-level departmental functioning.
