Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has unveiled an ambitious “Jharkhand AI Vision-2050” roadmap to transform the state into a national centre for artificial intelligence (AI)-based governance, digital economy and technology-driven development.
The roadmap was presented during the two-day National Stakeholders Consultation-2026 held at Taj Palace, New Delhi. The initiative aims to integrate AI solutions across governance, healthcare, education, agriculture, industries and citizen services to make government systems more transparent, faster and more efficient.
Jharkhand Proposes ₹1,150 Crore Investment for AI Transformation
To accelerate AI adoption across the state, the Jharkhand government has proposed an investment of ₹1,150 crore over the next five years.
The proposed investment will focus on:
- Development of AI infrastructure.
- Expansion of digital capabilities.
- Promotion of innovation.
- Implementation of AI-based solutions across government departments.
- Creation of technology-driven public services.
The government believes that AI integration will help deliver faster, better and more accessible services to citizens.
Ranchi to Get 100.97-Acre IT Park for AI and Digital Growth
As part of the digital transformation plan, the government announced the development of a 100.97-acre state-of-the-art IT Park in Ranchi.
The proposed IT Park will be developed as a major hub for:
- Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
- IT companies.
- Startups.
- Innovation-driven industries.
The project is expected to attract technology investments and position Jharkhand as an emerging IT and digital innovation destination.
Jharkhand AI Vision 2050 Sets Major Development Targets
Under the AI Vision-2050 roadmap, the state government has set several long-term goals:
- Attract more than ₹10,000 crore in investment.
- Establish over 50 Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
- Promote more than 1,000 AI startups.
- Generate over 1 lakh AI-based employment opportunities.
The government aims to create a strong AI ecosystem that supports investment, innovation and employment generation.
AI Policy 2026-31 to Cover Governance, Healthcare, Agriculture and Industry
The government also presented the framework of the proposed Jharkhand Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy 2026-31.
The policy will focus on developing AI-based solutions in sectors including:

- Agriculture.
- Education.
- Mining.
- Environmental protection.
- Disaster management.
The policy will also prioritise:
- Data privacy.
- Cyber security.
- Transparency.

CM Data Intelligence Platform Proposed for Real-Time Monitoring
A key component of the AI roadmap is the proposed Chief Minister Data Intelligence Platform (CM-DIP).
The platform will use data analytics and AI technology for real-time monitoring of:
- Government schemes.
- Infrastructure projects.
- Departmental activities.
The system is expected to improve decision-making, identify challenges quickly and enhance the efficiency of government programmes.
Three Major AI Initiatives Highlighted
During the consultation, the government highlighted three major AI-based initiatives:
1. Chief Minister Data Intelligence Platform (CM-DIP)
The platform will support data-driven governance and real-time monitoring of government activities.
2. Health and Nutrition Vigilance System (HNVS)
This AI-based system will help strengthen healthcare monitoring and nutrition-related programmes.
3. Critical Minerals Administration System (CMAS)
The initiative aims to modernise mineral administration through advanced data analysis and AI-based management systems.
Jharkhand to Develop AI Mission, AI Cloud and Innovation Ecosystem
The state government announced plans to establish a complete AI ecosystem, including:
- State AI Mission.
- Jharkhand AI Cloud.
- AI Innovation Hub.
- AI Park.
- AI Innovation Zones.
- Centres of Excellence.
- Startup and skill development ecosystem.
These initiatives will encourage:
- Research and development.
- Entrepreneurship.
- Industry-academia collaboration.
- Technology innovation.
Focus on AI Skills, Education and Youth Employment
The AI Vision-2050 roadmap places strong emphasis on developing skilled human resources.
The government plans to promote:
