J&K: 8 IPS Officers Among 38 Police Officials Transferred in High-Level Shakeup, Gurinderpal Singh Made SSP Baramulla

Among the notable transfers, Sandeep Wazir, IPS, previously serving as SSP Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), has been repatriated and appointed as Additional Inspector General (AIG) Personnel at the Police Headquarters (PHQ).

In a significant reshuffle, the Jammu & Kashmir Home Department on Thursday issued an order transferring 38 Senior Superintendent of Police (SSPs) and Superintendent of Police (SP) officers across the state. The transfer, which includes eight Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, was announced by Chanderaker Bharti, Principal Secretary, Home Department.

Among the notable transfers, Sandeep Wazir, IPS, previously serving as SSP Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), has been repatriated and appointed as Additional Inspector General (AIG) Personnel at the Police Headquarters (PHQ). Rajesh Kumar Sharma, who had been awaiting posting, has been assigned as SSP Security Jammu. Meanwhile, Gurinderpal Singh, IPS, currently serving as Director Police Telecommunication, has been appointed SSP Baramulla.

Other key shifts include:

  • Mumtaz Ahmad, IPS, previously SSP Poonch, is now appointed Commandant, IRP 12.
  • Mohd Aslam, IPS, SSP Doda, will now serve as Commandant, IRP 24.
  • Bisma Qazi, IPS, has been posted as SP City East Srinagar after waiting for a posting.
  • Raghav S, IPS, Additional SP Budgam, has been appointed SSP Ganderbal.
  • Gaurav Sikarwar, IPS, formerly SSP Reasi, has been reassigned as SSP Rajouri.
  • Mohd. Arshad, Commandant IRP 13, has been posted as SSP CI CID Jammu.

Additionally, there are several other significant shifts in the ranks:

  • Sandeep Kumar Mehta, SSP SCW Jammu, has been moved to SSP Doda.
  • Amit Gupta, SO to DGP J&K, will now serve as SO to ADGP CID, J&K.
  • Javid Iqbal, previously awaiting posting, has been appointed SSP Kishtwar.
  • Paramvir Singh, Additional Secretary Road Safety Council, has been posted as SSP Reasi.

The reshuffle also involves key officers being moved within specialized branches like the IRP (Indian Reserve Police) and CID (Criminal Investigation Department):

  • Mohd. Zaid, SSP Baramulla, has been appointed Commandant, JKAP 13.
  • Girdhari Lal, SO to ADGP CID, has been posted as SSP Traffic Rural Jammu.
  • Abdul Qayoom, SSP Kishtwar, has been reassigned as Commandant, IRP 2.
  • Shafqat Hussain, AIG (CT&I) PHQ, has been transferred to SSP Poonch.
  • Additionally, Sanjay Kumar Parihar, SSP CI CID Jammu, has been posted as SSP SCW Jammu, and Mubbasher Hussain, SP East Srinagar, will now head Commandant, IRP 9.

The reshuffle also covers several district-level and regional police posts, as well as security and specialized forces:

  • Mushim Ahmad, Addl. SP Poonch, has been appointed Commandant, IRP 22.
  • Parvez Ahmad Dar, Dy CO 2nd Women BN, is now Addl. SP Ganderbal.
  • Vivek Shekhar Sharma, Dy CO IRP 15, will now serve as SP North Jammu.

In addition, there were other posts filled with officers moving to various roles across the state to ensure operational efficiency and governance within the force. Among those, Raj Paul Singh, Dy CO IRP 22, has been posted as Addl. SP SB CID Jammu, and Madan Mohan Singh, Dy CO IRP 13, is now Dy CO IRP 7.

The reshuffling comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to optimize the functioning of the police force in various regions, aiming for improved law and order, security management, and efficiency in tackling local issues.
