Details of Karnataka Law Officers Appointment
The government has made several important appointments:
- BN Jagadeesh has been promoted and appointed as State Public Prosecutor-I. He replaced BA Belliyappa in the position.
- Vijayakumar Majage has been appointed as State Public Prosecutor-II.
- Mohammed Ayub Ali Khan has been appointed as an Additional State Public Prosecutor.
- Rashmi Jadav has also been appointed as an Additional State Public Prosecutor.
Large Team of Law Officers Appointed for Karnataka High Court
Apart from the public prosecutors, the government has appointed a large team of advocates to represent the State before the Karnataka High Court. The appointments include:
- 42 Additional Government Advocates (AGAs)
- 27 High Court Government Pleaders (HCGPs)
These officers will represent Karnataka before the Principal Bench of the High Court and assist the government in legal proceedings.
Women Get Significant Representation
One notable aspect of the appointments is the participation of women lawyers. According to official notifications:
- 16 women have been appointed among the 42 Additional Government Advocates.
- 10 women have been appointed among the 27 High Court Government Pleaders.

The government has clarified that these appointments will remain effective for one year, or until further orders are issued by the government, whichever occurs earlier.
