Narsinghpur: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav released the 36th installment of the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana during a grand state-level event held in Mungwani village of Narsinghpur on Wednesday.
Through a single-click transfer system, more than ₹1835 crore was directly transferred into the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore women beneficiaries across the state.
The event witnessed large participation from women beneficiaries, public representatives, and government officials. The Chief Minister described the scheme as a major step toward the economic and social empowerment of women in Madhya Pradesh.

CM Honors Women and Interacts with Beneficiaries
During the event, CM Mohan Yadav performed Kanya Pujan on stage as a mark of respect toward women and interacted warmly with beneficiaries present at the venue.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the state government remains fully committed to strengthening women financially and socially. He stated that the Ladli Behna Yojana is boosting self-confidence and self-reliance among women in the state.
He also criticized the opposition, saying that while some parties mocked the scheme as an election gimmick, the government has consistently fulfilled its promises with dedication.

Development Projects Worth ₹296 Crore Inaugurated
Apart from releasing the scheme installment, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth over ₹296 crore in Narsinghpur district.
Key Highlights of Development Works:
- Foundation laying for 17 projects worth ₹215.65 crore
- Inauguration of 23 projects worth ₹80.68 crore
- Announcement of 7 new bridges, including one over the Narmada River
- Inauguration of a 100-bed hospital
- Launch of an ROB near NTPC
- Expansion of drinking water facilities under the Nal Jal Yojana
The Chief Minister also released a special calendar showcasing the ancient heritage sites of Narsinghpur district.
Major Announcements by CM Mohan Yadav
New College to be Opened in Mungwani
During the event, Gotegaon MLA Mahendra Nagesh demanded the establishment of a college in Mungwani to help local students, especially girls, pursue higher education without traveling to distant cities.
CM Mohan Yadav responded positively and announced that a new college will be opened in Mungwani.
Other Major Announcements
- A 250-meter-long bridge over the Sher River will be constructed at a cost of ₹24 crore
- An Astro Turf Hockey Ground will be developed at the Narsinghpur stadium
- Testing work for the proposed Budena Dam will be conducted to improve irrigation facilities

Government Promoting Women Entrepreneurship
The Chief Minister said the state government is encouraging women to move forward in politics, business, employment, and technology sectors.
He highlighted that lakhs of women in Madhya Pradesh have been linked with:
- Self-employment opportunities
- Agriculture
- Animal husbandry
- Small industries and enterprises
He added that women are now making progress not only in traditional occupations but also in modern sectors like AI, computers, and technology.
Farmers Assured Full Crop Procurement and Bonus
CM Mohan Yadav assured farmers that the government would purchase every grain produced by them. He also announced a ₹600 bonus on urad crops.
He said Madhya Pradesh is among the top wheat-procuring states in the country and reiterated the government’s commitment toward farmers’ welfare.
Appeal for Fuel Conservation and Reduced Dependency
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister appealed to people to reduce fuel consumption and unnecessary expenditure.
He said:
- The government has reduced the number of vehicles in official convoys
- Ministers and officials have also been advised to minimize petrol and diesel usage
- Citizens should focus on saving resources and reducing dependence on foreign currencies like the dollar
He also appealed to people to avoid unnecessary gold purchases in the national interest.

Water Conservation Campaign Gains Momentum
CM Mohan Yadav emphasized the importance of water conservation under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan.
He praised a landlord family from Gotegaon that donated 21 acres of land for the construction of a large pond. The Chief Minister announced that the family would be honored publicly in Bhopal for their contribution.
Reward Scheme for Helping Road Accident Victims
The Chief Minister also praised Narsinghpur district for its performance under the Rahveer Yojana.
Under the scheme:
- Citizens who help accident victims reach hospitals will receive a reward of ₹25,000
- Injured persons will receive free treatment worth up to ₹1.5 lakh
Political Buzz Ahead of the Event
Political tension was also witnessed before the program. Youth Congress district vice-president Shivam Rai and his supporters were reportedly detained in Gotegaon while heading to the venue to protest with black flags.
The administration stated that the action was taken to maintain law and order during the Chief Minister’s visit. However, opposition leaders termed the move an attack on democratic rights.

The Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana remains one of the flagship welfare schemes of the Madhya Pradesh government. With the release of the 36th installment, crores of women continue to receive direct financial assistance aimed at improving their standard of living and strengthening financial independence.
