Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Honours 101 Police Personnel, Boosts Awards And Accelerates Recruitment Reforms 

At the K.F. Rustamji Awards ceremony in Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav praised the Madhya Pradesh Police for their courage and commitment to law and order, while announcing increased reward amounts, faster recruitment drives, and improved welfare support for police personnel.

Bhopal: The government of Madhya Pradesh, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has praised the state police for their courage, discipline, and commitment to public safety, announcing key reforms including higher reward amounts, faster recruitment, and enhanced welfare measures for personnel.

The announcement was made during the K.F. Rustamji Award Ceremony held in Bhopal, where 101 police officers and personnel were honoured for their outstanding service in law enforcement and internal security.

CM Highlights Role of Police in Good Governance

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh Police has earned a strong identity through bravery and dedication. He emphasized that:

  • Police play a key role in maintaining good governance and public safety
  • Their contribution to peace and law and order is highly commendable
  • The government stands fully with the police force in all reforms and innovations

He also expressed pride in honouring officers serving the nation with dedication.

101 Police Officers Honoured with K.F. Rustamji Awards

A total of 101 police officers and personnel were awarded for their exceptional contribution during 2019–20 and 2020–21.

They were recognized for:

  • Anti-dacoity operations
  • Anti-Naxal campaigns
  • Maintaining communal harmony
  • Crime control and law and order management

The awards were presented under different categories, including:

  • Param Vishisht (Highest Category) – ₹5 lakh or weapon
  • Ati Vishisht (Second Category) – ₹2 lakh or weapon
  • Vishisht Category – ₹50,000 and certificate

Police Reward Amount Increased

In a major welfare decision, the Chief Minister approved an increase in reward amounts for police personnel:

  • DG-level awards increased from ₹25,000 to ₹50,000
  • Annual awards to be given regularly without delay in future years

He also directed that police personnel should be provided housing in their respective districts through coordination with housing authorities.

Faster Recruitment in Police Department

The state government announced acceleration of police recruitment:

  • Recruitment process for 2026 to be completed quickly
  • Next recruitment cycle to begin immediately after
  • Separate recruitment for police band personnel initiated

This aims to strengthen the police force and improve law and order efficiency.

Focus on Cybercrime and Modern Policing

Chief Minister Yadav highlighted the growing challenge of cybercrime and said:

  • Police must develop technical and intellectual strength
  • Cybercrime will be tackled using modern tools and training
  • Madhya Pradesh Police will maintain its strong reputation in digital policing

He also appreciated initiatives like e-Zero FIR system and technology-driven policing reforms.

Tribute to K.F. Rustamji and Legacy of Policing Excellence

The Chief Minister paid tribute to Padma Vibhushan K. F. Rustamji, calling him a source of inspiration for the police force.

He recalled his contributions:

  • Elimination of dacoits in the Chambal region
  • Establishment of the Border Security Force
  • Strengthening internal security systems in India

Police Leadership Highlights Achievements

Director General of Police Kailash Makwana highlighted major achievements of the force:

  • State declared Naxal-free in 2025
  • Successful implementation of Dial 112 emergency service
  • Completion of large-scale police recruitment
  • Strong community policing campaigns like “Nasha se Door, Zaroori Hai Door”

He also mentioned preparations for Simhastha 2028, calling it a major upcoming security challenge.

Community Policing and Future Goals

The DGP emphasized:

  • Growth of community policing with public participation
  • Expansion of anti-drug campaigns
  • Target to make Madhya Pradesh drug-free in coming years
  • Strengthening cyber and digital policing systems

The ceremony reflected the state government’s strong focus on police welfare, modernization, and recognition of bravery. With increased rewards, faster recruitment, and technology-driven reforms, Madhya Pradesh aims to build a more efficient and future-ready police force dedicated to public safety and national security.
