Love, Law, & Determination: How UP Civil Judge Nikita Sengar Changed Her Career Path to Reunite With Her IPS Husband in Andhra

From Hardoi to Andhra Pradesh Judiciary – A Success Story Rooted in Love, Grit, and Unbreakable Will
Indian Masterminds Stories

Lucknow/Andhra Pradesh: Love doesn’t just conquer all—it sometimes even rewrites career paths. The remarkable journey of Civil Judge Nikita Sengar is a shining example of how love, when paired with grit and ambition, can break barriers of language, geography, and profession.

Nikita, a 2018-batch Uttar Pradesh Judicial Services officer, recently secured Rank 4 in the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Service Examination—not for a promotion, but to be with her husband, IPS officer Tuhin Sinha, who is posted in Andhra Pradesh. Her success story is not only an inspiration for civil service aspirants but also a testament to bold choices in balancing career and personal life.

Who Is Nikita Sengar?

Hailing from Lucknow, Nikita studied law at ILS Law College, Pune, where she met Tuhin Sinha. Both excelled academically and later cracked prestigious civil services—Tuhin joined the IPS (Andhra Pradesh cadre) and Nikita cleared the UP Judicial Services Exam in 2018, becoming a civil judge in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.

In 2021, the two got married, hoping to live together after Tuhin’s cadre was shifted to UP. However, their hopes were dashed when the cadre transfer didn’t materialize.

A Bold Decision to Reunite

Rather than wait indefinitely for a transfer, Nikita took matters into her own hands. She made the life-changing decision to appear for the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Services Exam, with the aim of relocating to the same state as her husband. But the path was far from easy.

The language barrier—Telugu—was a significant hurdle, alongside a new syllabus and judicial structure unfamiliar to her. But Nikita embraced the challenge. She learned Telugu, studied rigorously, and kept her goal in sight.

Success with Rank 4 – A Judge Once Again

Her perseverance paid off when she cracked the exam and secured 4th rank in Andhra Pradesh Judicial Services. With this, she not only took her judicial career to new heights but also reunited with her husband after years of long-distance marriage.

A Story of Courage, Love, and Determination

Nikita’s journey is more than just a career shift—it’s about choosing courage over comfort, love over convenience, and determination over doubt.

Her story reflects the growing number of young professionals willing to adapt, evolve, and take bold decisions to preserve their relationships without sacrificing ambition. In a profession known for its rigidity, Judge Nikita Sengar has shown that rules can be followed with flexibility—and life can be lived with purpose.
