New Delhi: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Talcher Fertilizers Limited (TFL) for the safe, scientific, and environmentally responsible disposal of fly ash generated from TFL’s upcoming coal gasification-based Ammonia Urea Project at Talcher.
The agreement aims to strengthen sustainable ash management practices while supporting scientific mine reclamation and responsible environmental management in accordance with guidelines issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).
MCL and TFL Partner for Eco-Friendly Fly Ash Management
The MoU was signed at MCL’s Corporate Office in Burla and will facilitate the transportation and disposal of fly ash generated from TFL’s upcoming project.
Under the agreement, fly ash will be transported through the High Concentration Slurry Disposal (HCSD) system and scientifically disposed of at MCL’s Jagannath Open Cast Project.
The initiative is designed to ensure safe handling of industrial waste while reducing the environmental impact associated with fly ash disposal.

HCSD Technology to Support Sustainable Disposal
The use of the HCSD system will enable efficient transportation of fly ash in a controlled and environmentally friendly manner.
