Mumbai: The Ministry of Steel will hold an Open House on October 28, 2026, to discuss issues related to steel imports, including matters concerning the Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS), SARAL SIMS and Quality Control Order (QCO) exemptions.
The Open House will take place from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Steel Room, 3rd Floor, GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi. Companies and industry associations facing difficulties related to these matters can participate to present their concerns and seek clarification.
Interested organisations must send an email to [email protected] by 12:00 noon on October 26, 2026, to request a confirmed time slot for the meeting.
Ministry of Steel Open House: Who Can Participate?
Companies and associations dealing with steel imports and facing issues related to SIMS, SARAL SIMS or QCO exemptions can submit their concerns for discussion during the Open House.
The Ministry has invited organisations to present issues related to these areas. Participation will be subject to confirmation of a time slot by email.
To ensure wider participation, only one representative from each organisation will be permitted to attend. Walk-in participation will not be allowed due to logistical constraints.
Details Required for Open House Registration
While requesting a time slot, companies and associations should include the following information in their email:
- Name of the company or association: The organisation seeking participation.
- Type of industry and product: Details of the relevant industry and product, such as automotive, aerospace, telecommunications or defence.
- Nature of the issue: Whether the matter relates to SIMS, SARAL SIMS or a QCO exemption.
- Application reference: The reference number of the relevant SIMS, SARAL SIMS or QCO exemption application, if applicable.
- Brief description of the issue: A summary of the concern in no more than 50 words.
- Participant details: Name and designation of the representative attending the meeting. Third-party representation will not be allowed.
- Contact information: Mobile number and email address of the participant.
The Ministry will communicate the allotted time slots to participants through email.

Companies and associations seeking to participate must email their requests to [email protected] by 12:00 noon on October 26, 2026.
