Bhopal/Ujjain: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reviewed the ongoing preparations for Simhastha-2028 in Ujjain and inspected several major development projects, including road widening and construction works at Ramghat.
During the visit, the Chief Minister said the state government is carrying out development works with long-term planning and a clear vision to ensure better facilities for both residents and the millions of devotees expected to visit Ujjain during Simhastha 2028.
He stated that the government is closely monitoring every project to ensure timely execution and long-term benefits for the city.
CM Mohan Yadav Inspects Simhastha 2028 Development Works
While inspecting the ongoing projects in Ujjain, Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that infrastructure development is being undertaken systematically to transform the city ahead of the grand religious gathering.
The Chief Minister reviewed:
- Road widening projects
- Construction and beautification works at Ramghat
- Pilgrim convenience and public infrastructure projects
He said the state government is committed to strengthening urban infrastructure and enhancing facilities for devotees visiting the holy city.
Statewide Mass Shramdaan on Ganga Dussehra
Speaking to the media after the inspection, CM Mohan Yadav announced that a statewide collective shramdaan (voluntary labour drive) will be organized across Madhya Pradesh on June 30 on the occasion of Kshipra-Ganga Dussehra.
He said the campaign will focus on water conservation through public participation at:
- Rivers
- Canals
- Wells
- Stepwells
- Ponds and traditional water bodies
The initiative aims to strengthen awareness and community involvement in preserving water resources across the state.
Madhya Pradesh Among Leading States in Water Conservation
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over Madhya Pradesh’s progress in water conservation initiatives and said the state is emerging as one of the leading performers in the country in this sector.
Referring to recent data from the Union Jal Shakti Ministry, he said Madhya Pradesh has been consistently performing well in water conservation and management efforts.
Dr. Yadav expressed confidence that the state would continue to strengthen its position through sustained environmental and water management initiatives.
Government to Further Strengthen Water Conservation Campaign
Highlighting the importance of water conservation, the Chief Minister said, “Water is life,” and recalled that traditions like Kshipra Parikrama and Ganga Dussehra celebrations at Ramghat were initiated years ago with the same spirit.
He said the upcoming Ganga Dashami Parikrama will also be celebrated with devotion and grandeur.
Dr. Mohan Yadav added that under the guidance and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is prioritizing water conservation structures and sustainable environmental initiatives.
The government plans to further expand and strengthen these campaigns in the coming years.
Better Facilities Being Developed for Devotees in Ujjain
The Chief Minister said the government is continuously working to improve public amenities and pilgrim facilities in Ujjain.
He noted that regular monitoring of all projects is being conducted to ensure:

- Timely completion
- Long-term utility for residents and pilgrims
Dr. Yadav described Ujjain as a city of immense historical and spiritual significance and praised public representatives, officials and citizens for working collectively with dedication and devotion.
