Bhopal: Meritorious Class 12 students in Madhya Pradesh are set to receive financial support for purchasing laptops, with the government scheduled to transfer ₹25,000 directly into eligible students’ bank accounts on September 1.
The benefit targets students who cleared their Class 12 examination in their first attempt with at least 75% marks. Alongside the laptop assistance, the Madhya Pradesh government is also preparing to distribute scooters to high-performing students.
₹25,000 Laptop Assistance
Under the student welfare initiative, eligible Class 12 students will receive ₹25,000 to purchase a laptop.
The government will transfer the amount directly into the students’ bank accounts, allowing beneficiaries to use the financial assistance for laptop purchases.
The move aims to support students in accessing digital learning resources and continuing their higher education with better access to technology.

Who Can Get the Benefit?
Students who meet the prescribed academic criteria can receive the laptop assistance.
The key eligibility condition is:
- The student must have passed Class 12 in the first attempt.
- The student must have secured 75% or more marks.
Students meeting these conditions can receive the ₹25,000 assistance, subject to the applicable government eligibility requirements.
Scooters for Meritorious Students
The government is also preparing another incentive for high-performing students. Eligible meritorious students will receive scooters under the state’s student-focused initiatives.
According to the information available, the government has set a target to complete the scooter distribution by September 15.
The scooter initiative is intended to provide additional mobility support to meritorious students and encourage academic performance.
Direct Bank Transfer for Students
The ₹25,000 laptop assistance will reach eligible beneficiaries through direct bank transfers. This approach allows the government to provide the financial support directly to students rather than distributing laptops through a separate procurement process.
For students, the assistance can help reduce the financial burden of purchasing a laptop, particularly as digital resources have become increasingly important for higher education, competitive examinations and skill development.
Focus on Meritorious Class 12 Students
The laptop and scooter initiatives form part of Madhya Pradesh’s broader focus on encouraging students to perform well academically.
By linking benefits to Class 12 performance, the government is seeking to reward students who achieve strong results while also helping them access resources that can support their next stage of education.
The laptop assistance will be released first, with the ₹25,000 transfer scheduled for September 1. The scooter distribution is expected to follow, with September 15 set as the target.
