Madhya Pradesh: Bhopal Police, Uday Sanstha Hold Cyber Safety Awareness Programme for 165 Adolescent Girls

A cyber and personal safety awareness programme for 165 adolescent girls was held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on August 26, covering online risks, human trafficking, child marriage, substance abuse and legal rights.

Bhopal: The Bhopal Police Commissionerate, Bagsewania Police Station and Uday Social Development Organisation jointly organised an awareness programme for adolescent girls on August 26, 2026, focusing on personal safety, cyber security and legal awareness.

The programme brought together 165 participants from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and covered issues including human trafficking, risks associated with social media and online interactions, substance abuse, child marriage, education and the importance of building a safe future.

Cyber Safety and Human Trafficking Awareness

During the programme, Sonia Patel, in-charge of the Urja Desk, spoke about human trafficking, cases involving adolescent girls leaving home and risks associated with social media and digital technology.

She explained how girls can potentially be misled, lured or exploited through online conversations and social media platforms. Participants were advised to exercise caution while interacting online with unknown individuals and remain alert to possible misuse of technology.

Police Officer Highlights Legal Rights and Safety

Sub-Inspector Sanjay Dubey interacted with the participants about challenges that adolescent girls may face in their daily lives.

His session covered:

  • Risks of abuse and exploitation
  • Harm associated with narcotic and intoxicating substances
  • Relevant laws and legal rights
  • Sources of assistance in unsafe or difficult situations
  • The importance of staying away from negative influences
  • Focusing on education and building a secure future

The session also encouraged the girls to seek appropriate help when confronted with difficult or unsafe circumstances.

ADCP Discusses Personal Safety and Child Marriage

ADCP Mini Shukla held an interactive session with the girls, beginning with questions about their ambitions and what they wanted to become in the future.

She encouraged the participants to work consistently towards their goals while discussing measures for personal safety and precautions against online fraud and cyber-related risks.

The session also addressed child marriage, including its effects on girls’ education, health, independence and future.

Shukla encouraged the participants to understand their rights and seek appropriate assistance and guidance whenever required.

The girls were also given an opportunity to directly interact with the guests and raise questions during the programme’s question-and-answer session. Their questions covered cyber security, personal safety, legal rights and risks associated with social media.

Education and Menstrual Health Discussed

Sessions conducted by Sapna Jain and Harshita Awasthi of Uday Social Development Organisation addressed girls’ education, the consequences of early marriage and issues related to menstruation and menstrual health.

The programme also included an introductory session by Renu Khalkho, Nyay Chaupal Coordinator, who welcomed the participants and explained the objectives of the event. She emphasised awareness, confidence and the ability to make informed decisions in difficult situations.

Free Health Check-Up Provided

As part of the programme, RKDF Medical Hospital provided free health check-up services for the participating girls.

Representatives of Uday Social Development Organisation and RKDF staff were also present during the event.

The programme concluded with Seetu Jadon expressing gratitude to the guests, organisers and participating girls for their cooperation and active involvement.
