Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has issued emergency helpline numbers following severe flooding in Nepal’s Bhotekoshi River and the resulting natural disaster. The move aims to assist Uttarakhand residents stranded in affected areas and help families track their relatives in Nepal.
The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA) has activated helpline facilities for emergency assistance and information.

SDRF Alert in Champawat and Banbasa
The administration has also increased vigilance in Uttarakhand’s border areas following the disaster and rising water levels in rivers.
Special attention has been given to Champawat and Banbasa, where State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been placed on alert.
Continuous patrolling is also being carried out along the banks and ghats of the Sharda River, also known as the Mahakali River.
Authorities have urged residents and tourists to avoid visiting riverbanks and other vulnerable locations until the situation stabilises.
CM Dhami Expresses Condolences
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed grief over the loss of lives in Nepal following the natural disaster.
He conveyed his condolences to the affected families and directed officials to ensure all possible assistance and maintain close monitoring of the situation.
The administration is keeping a watch on developments in Nepal as well as conditions in Uttarakhand’s border areas, particularly locations that could be affected by changes in river water levels.

The activation of helplines provides a direct channel for families in Uttarakhand to seek information about relatives who may be in Nepal.
At the same time, the deployment of SDRF teams and increased patrolling along the Sharda River are aimed at strengthening preparedness within Uttarakhand.
