Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, approved financial proposals worth more than Rs 13,790 crore at its meeting held at the state secretariat on Tuesday. The decisions cover infrastructure development, irrigation expansion, sports facilities, power procurement, judicial administration, commercial tax schemes and strengthening of government offices.
The Cabinet also approved the continuation of several schemes under the 16th Finance Commission period from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031, while giving a major push to irrigation projects in Rajgarh and Neemuch districts.
Among the key decisions, the Cabinet approved Rs 962.50 crore for construction and operation of sports complexes in 140 Assembly constituencies under the Mukhyamantri Sports Complex Scheme, while irrigation projects collectively received nearly Rs 4,968 crore for their continuation over the next five years.
Rs 962.50 Crore Approved for Sports Complexes in 140 Assembly Constituencies
The Cabinet gave in-principle approval of Rs 962 crore 50 lakh for the construction and operation of sports complexes in 140 Assembly constituencies across Madhya Pradesh.
The facilities will be named Mukhyamantri Sports Complexes and are intended to promote sports and encourage young and emerging talent across the state.
A permanent helipad will also be developed at the centre of the main ground at these sports complexes. According to the cabinet decision, this will facilitate the movement of helicopters under the PM SHRI scheme.
The initiative is expected to strengthen grassroots sports infrastructure and provide better facilities for players and youth in different parts of the state.

Nearly Rs 4,968 Crore for Three Major Irrigation Projects
The Cabinet approved the continuation of three major irrigation projects for the five-year period from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2031.
The projects include:
- Suthalia Irrigation Project, Rajgarh: Rs 262.63 crore
- Javad-Nimach Pressurised Micro Irrigation Project, Neemuch: Rs 4,197.58 crore
- Parvati-Rinsi Irrigation Project, Rajgarh: Rs 507.23 crore
Together, these projects are expected to increase irrigation capacity across more than 88,000 hectares.
Suthalia Irrigation Project
The Cabinet approved Rs 262 crore 63 lakh for the continuation of the Suthalia Irrigation Project in Rajgarh from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031.
The project aims to increase irrigation capacity through micro-irrigation methods across around 40,000 hectares in Rajgarh district.
Javad-Nimach Pressurised Micro Irrigation Project
The Cabinet approved Rs 4,197 crore 58 lakh for the continuation of the Javad-Nimach Pressurised Micro Irrigation Project for the next five years.
The project will use a pressurised micro-irrigation system to deliver water to agricultural fields. Its key objectives include:
- Saving water through advanced irrigation technology
- Expanding irrigation capacity
- Improving agricultural productivity
- Providing a more efficient water delivery system to farms
Parvati-Rinsi Irrigation Project
The Cabinet also approved Rs 507 crore 23 lakh for the continuation of the Parvati-Rinsi Irrigation Project in Rajgarh.
The project aims to increase irrigation capacity over approximately 48,000 hectares through dam construction and associated irrigation infrastructure.
Approval for Procurement of 2,800 MW Thermal Power
The Cabinet approved a proposal to initiate the process for procurement of 2,800 MW of thermal power through competitive bidding.
The procurement will be undertaken by MP Power Management Company Limited based on the DBFOO model bidding documents issued by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The power will be procured from existing and under-construction thermal power projects in Madhya Pradesh as well as proposed new greenfield and brownfield thermal power projects within the state.
The Cabinet also decided that the earlier approval related to procurement of 900 MW thermal power, granted on January 24, 2025, will be considered subsumed into the new 2,800 MW procurement proposal following cancellation of the earlier tender.
Further action will be taken in accordance with the approval and orders of the regulatory commission. The Managing Director of MP Power Management Company has been authorised to undertake the necessary process.
Over Rs 4,000 Crore Approved for Judicial and Legal Services
The Cabinet approved financial continuity of several judicial and legal schemes under the 16th Finance Commission period, covering April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031.
The approvals include:
- High Court (Charged): Rs 2,015.60 crore
- Family Courts: Rs 1,000 crore
- Gram Nyayalaya Scheme: Rs 554.61 crore
- Madhya Pradesh Legal Aid and Legal Advice Board: Rs 524 crore
Gram Nyayalaya Scheme
The Cabinet approved Rs 554 crore 61 lakh for continuation of the Gram Nyayalaya Scheme.
The funding will cover salaries, allowances and office-related expenses of judicial officers and court employees posted in Gram Nyayalayas. The courts will also continue disposal of cases filed before them in accordance with law.
Legal Aid and Legal Advice Board
A provision of Rs 524 crore was approved for continuation of the Madhya Pradesh Legal Aid and Legal Advice Board for the five-year Finance Commission period.
Family Courts
The Cabinet approved Rs 1,000 crore for continuation of the Family Courts scheme under the Registrar, Madhya Pradesh High Court, from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031.
High Court
A provision of Rs 2,015.60 crore was approved for continuation of the High Court (Charged) scheme for the same five-year period.
Rs 969.87 Crore for Continuation of Six Commercial Tax Department Schemes
The Cabinet approved Rs 969 crore 87 lakh for continuation of six schemes under the Commercial Tax Department for financial years 2026-27 to 2030-31.
The approved allocation includes:
- Sampada e-Registry Scheme: Rs 62 crore
- Expenditure on Sale of Stamps: Rs 664 crore
- Cost of Stamps: Rs 175 crore
- Maintenance of Departmental Assets: Rs 12.50 crore
- Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme: Rs 46.37 crore
- Construction/Expansion of District and Sub-Registrar Office Buildings: Rs 10 crore
The funding is aimed at ensuring continuity of these schemes over the next five financial years.
13 New Teaching Posts Approved for Government Dental College Indore
The Cabinet approved the creation of 13 new teaching posts at Government Dental College, Indore.
The approved posts include:
- Professor: 1
- Associate Professors: 10
- Assistant Professors: 2
The move is linked to the proposed expansion of academic capacity at the institution. The government aims to increase BDS seats from 63 to 100 and MDS seats from 35 to 44.
The creation of the 13 posts is expected to involve an annual expenditure of approximately Rs 3.78 crore.
New Public Health Engineering Offices in Three Districts
The Cabinet approved the establishment of new Public Health Engineering Department offices in the newly formed districts of Maihar and Pandhurna, as well as a Sub-Divisional Office in the Chitrangi block of Singrauli district.
Maihar
A district office of the Public Health Engineering Department will be established in Maihar with:
- 5 new permanent posts
- 2 outsourced office assistants
Pandhurna
A district office will also be established in Pandhurna with:
- 5 new permanent posts
- 2 outsourced office assistants
Singrauli
A Sub-Divisional Office will be established in Chitrangi block of Singrauli with:
- 3 new permanent posts
- 1 outsourced office assistant
The move is intended to strengthen administrative and departmental operations in the newly created districts and improve local-level implementation.
