Indian Masterminds Stories

Bhopal/Bhind: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Sunday described the Ladli Behna Yojana as a revolutionary initiative for women’s empowerment while transferring more than ₹1,835 crore as the 38th installment of the scheme to the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore women beneficiaries across the state.

Speaking at the state-level Ladli Behna Yojana programme in Lahar, Bhind district, the Chief Minister reaffirmed that empowering women remains the government’s highest priority. During the event, he also inaugurated and laid the foundation for 56 development projects worth over ₹322 crore, including four newly constructed Sandipani School buildings, and announced the expansion of postgraduate (PG) courses at the local college.

Women Empowerment Is the Government’s Top Priority

Addressing thousands of beneficiaries, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said women are the backbone and dignity of every family and hold a revered place in Indian culture.

He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently prioritized women’s empowerment and envisions women playing leading roles from Gram Panchayats to Parliament. The Madhya Pradesh government, he said, shares the same commitment by implementing welfare programmes focused on improving women’s financial independence and social security.

According to the Chief Minister, the Ladli Behna Yojana has emerged as one of the state’s most impactful initiatives, strengthening the economic condition of women and bringing happiness to families across Madhya Pradesh.

₹1,835 Crore Released to Over 1.25 Crore Women

As part of the programme, the Chief Minister electronically transferred more than ₹1,835 crore to the bank accounts of over 1.25 crore Ladli Behna beneficiaries under the scheme’s 38th installment.

He stated that the financial assistance provided through the scheme has become an important source of support for women, enabling them to contribute more effectively to household expenses and family welfare.

The Chief Minister also criticized those opposing women-centric welfare programmes, saying such critics neither introduced similar initiatives nor acknowledged the positive impact of the scheme on millions of families.

₹322 Crore Development Package for Bhind District

Dr. Yadav announced a major development package for Bhind district by dedicating 56 projects worth more than ₹322 crore.

The projects include:

  • Inauguration of four newly constructed Sandipani School buildings.
  • Expansion of postgraduate education facilities at the Lahar college.
  • Infrastructure projects aimed at improving education and public services across the district.

He said Bhind is entering a new phase of development, with investments focused on education, infrastructure, and regional growth.

Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva to Be Launched Soon

The Chief Minister announced that the state government will soon introduce the Chief Minister Sugam Parivahan Seva, a new public transportation initiative.

He said the service has long been needed to provide safer, more convenient, and accessible transportation for women, daughters, and all citizens. The government is working rapidly to roll out the service across the state.

Government Focused on Welfare of Women, Farmers, Youth and the Poor

Highlighting the government’s broader development agenda, Dr. Yadav said Madhya Pradesh is committed to the welfare of every section of society.

He emphasized that alongside women, the government is implementing programmes for:

  • Farmers through procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
  • Youth by creating employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
  • Poor families through welfare schemes.
  • Dairy farmers by promoting cattle shelters and increasing milk production.

The Chief Minister said the government’s objective is to transform young people from job seekers into job creators, while making Madhya Pradesh India’s leading state in dairy production.

Bhind and Chambal Region Witnessing Rapid Development

The Chief Minister said Bhind district is writing a new chapter of development.

He highlighted the district’s contribution to national security, noting that many young people from Bhind serve in the Indian Armed Forces. Referring to the region’s historical association with the Mahabharata and the Lakshagriha legend, he said Bhind has transformed from an area once associated with dacoit activity into a region focused on development and progress.

He also mentioned the recent initiative to establish an advanced long-range missile manufacturing unit in Shivpuri, stating that the Gwalior-Chambal region is receiving major investments that will create employment and accelerate industrial growth.

Sandipani Schools to Provide Education with Values

Dr. Yadav said the newly inaugurated Sandipani Schools are designed not only to deliver quality education but also to instill moral values among students.

Recalling the friendship between Lord Krishna and Sudama, who studied together at Sage Sandipani’s ashram, he said the schools symbolize equality, character building, and holistic education.

Uniform Civil Code (UCC) Likely to Be Implemented This Month

The Chief Minister announced that Madhya Pradesh is preparing to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) later this month.

He said a high-level committee had been constituted to study the issue, public suggestions were invited, and consultations were held with intellectuals and representatives of various organizations.

According to Dr. Yadav, the proposed UCC aims to establish a uniform legal framework for matters such as:

  • Marriage
  • Divorce
  • Maintenance
  • Inheritance
  • Other family-related issues

He added that many members of the Muslim community have also expressed support for the initiative.

Geeta Bhawans and Vrindavan Gram Initiative

The Chief Minister also announced that Geeta Bhawans are being established in urban areas across Madhya Pradesh to promote cultural and spiritual values.

Similarly, the government plans to develop Vrindavan Gram in rural areas to strengthen cultural traditions and community life. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi often presents copies of the Bhagavad Gita to distinguished guests as a symbol of India’s rich spiritual heritage.

Leaders Praise Development Initiatives

Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel thanked the Chief Minister for sanctioning development projects worth over ₹322 crore for Bhind district, calling the day historic for Lahar.

Lahar MLA Ambrish Sharma praised the government’s efforts, highlighting the establishment of an ordnance factory in Shivpuri to create employment opportunities and the foundation laying of six large cow shelters in Lahar.

CM Reviews Welfare Exhibitions and Greets Beneficiaries

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Kanya Pujan.

During the event, the Chief Minister:

  • Distributed benefits to various beneficiaries.
  • Visited exhibitions showcasing government welfare schemes.
  • Reviewed nutrition and high-tech horticulture exhibitions.
  • Interacted with self-help groups and women entrepreneurs displaying their products.
  • Showered flower petals on the women beneficiaries in attendance as a gesture of respect.

Visit to Dandaraua Sarkar Dham

During his Bhind visit, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also offered prayers at the renowned Dandaraua Sarkar Dham in Mehgaon tehsil.

He prayed for the prosperity, happiness, and well-being of the people of Madhya Pradesh and said that such religious and spiritual centres strengthen cultural values, social harmony, and positive energy in society.

The Chief Minister also met Mahant Shri 1008 Ramdas Ji Maharaj and toured the temple complex.
