MP Government Executes Major IAS Reshuffle; Sanjay Dubey Appointed as Principal Secy., GAD

In a significant bureaucratic overhaul, the Madhya Pradesh government has transferred 12 IAS officers in a late-night reshuffle on Wednesday, just one day after the transfer of nine other officers. This reshuffle follows an earlier reorganization on August 10, which saw 26 IAS officers, including eight district collectors, be reassigned.

Sanjay Dubey, an IAS officer from the 1993 batch, has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department (GAD) and will retain additional responsibilities within the GAD (M.P. Administrative Services) and the Legal & Vigilance Cell. Dubey will also continue to serve as the Principal Secretary of the Science and Technology Department.

Manish Rastogi, also from the 1993 batch, has been shifted from his role in the GAD to become the Principal Secretary of the Finance Department.

Amit Rathore’s appointment as Principal Secretary of the Finance Department has been annulled within 24 hours. Rathore will remain in his position as Principal Secretary of the Commercial Tax Department.

The reshuffle list includes several notable changes:

  • Illaiya Raja T. (2009 Batch): Appointed as Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation in Bhopal and given additional duties as additional secretary of the Department of Tourism and the Chief Minister’s Office.
  • Manish Singh (2009 Batch): Moved from Registrar of the Madhya Pradesh State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission to Commissioner of the Housing and Infrastructure Development Board in Bhopal.
  • Rakhi Sahay (2015 Batch): Promoted from Deputy Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission in Indore to Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Financial Corporation.
  • Ashish Tiwari (2016 Batch): Elevated from Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat in Sehore to Additional Secretary of the Water Resources Department.
  • Jayati Singh (2016 Batch): Transferred from CEO of the District Panchayat in Jabalpur to CEO of the District Panchayat in Ujjain.
  • Kirti Khurasiya (2016 Batch): Shifted from Regional Manager of the Civil Supplies Corporation in Indore to Deputy Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission.
  • Rahul Namdev Dhote (2017 Batch): Appointed as Additional Secretary of the Narmada Valley Development Department, moving from CEO of the District Panchayat in Sidhi.
  • Yogesh Tukaram Bharsat (2017 Batch): Transferred from CEO of the District Panchayat in Vidisha to CEO of Ayushman Bharat.
  • Dr. Saurabh Sanjay Sonawane (2017 Batch): Now the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation in Rewa, relinquishing his role as CEO of the District Panchayat in Rewa.
  • Guru Prasad (2017 Batch): Appointed as Managing Director of the State Wide Area Network (SWAN) in Bhopal and given additional responsibilities as Director of the State Computer Security Incident Response Team (CCCIPE).

Earlier on August 20, other key appointments included:

  • Anupam Rajan: From Chief Electoral Officer to the Higher Education Department.
  • Sukhveer Singh: Newly appointed as Chief Electoral Officer, previously Principal Secretary of Horticulture and Food Processing.
  • Amit Rathore: Had been appointed Principal Secretary of Finance but now remains as Principal Secretary of Commercial Tax.
  • Ajit Kumar: Shifted from Secretary of Finance to Joint Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India.
  • Shreeman Shukla: Transitioned from Managing Director of the Mandi Board to Commissioner of Shahdol.
  • Sibi Chakraborty: Moved from Managing Director of Metro Rail Corporation to Commissioner of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection.
  • Rishi Garg: Elevated from Deputy Secretary of Cottage and Village Industries to Member Secretary of the Planning Commission and Commissioner of Economic Statistics.
  • S. Krishna Chaitanya: Now Managing Director of Metro Rail Corporation, previously CEO of the Employment Guarantee Council.
  • Avi Prasad: Appointed CEO of the Employment Guarantee Council, previously Deputy Secretary.

Additional appointments include:

  • Anirudh Mukherjee: Given extra duties as Principal Secretary of the Public Asset Management Department.
  • M. Selvendran: Appointed Managing Director of the Mandi Board, continuing as Secretary of Agriculture.
  • Dhanraj S.: Now Secretary of the Commercial Tax Department, previously Commissioner of Commercial Tax in Indore.
