Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed officials to promote the installation of CCTV cameras in public places and the use of eco-friendly construction materials in housing projects. The announcement was made during a high-level review meeting of the Planning, Economic and Statistics Department held in Bhopal.
The Chief Minister emphasized making development more transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric through district-level presentations and public exhibitions.
District-Level Development Presentations on Independence Day
CM Yadav announced that on Independence Day (August 15), district-level programs will feature detailed presentations of development works and welfare schemes.
Key highlights include:
- District ministers will present progress reports at district headquarters
- Exhibitions showcasing development work will be set up for the public
- The presentations will function as a form of social audit of development activities
- Citizens will be able to directly view achievements of government schemes
District Development Committees to Hold Conference in Bhopal
The Chief Minister also announced a state-level conference of District Development Committees in Bhopal. These committees will be encouraged to actively participate in government planning and promote private investment at the district level.
He stressed that district bodies must play a stronger role in shaping local development strategies.
CCTV Expansion and Eco-Friendly Housing Promotion
CM Yadav directed that under the Assembly Constituency Development Scheme, emphasis should be placed on:
- Installing CCTV cameras in public areas for safety and monitoring
- Promoting eco-friendly building materials in affordable housing projects
- Raising awareness about sustainable construction practices
He also instructed officials to encourage innovation in local development initiatives.
Unified Digital Platform for Government Data
The Chief Minister ordered the creation of a single integrated platform for statistical data, where all departmental, divisional, and district-level information will be available.
This initiative aims to improve transparency, data accessibility, and policy decision-making.
Reform in Birth and Death Registration Process
During the review, CM Yadav directed the development of a new system to enable death registration at cremation grounds (Vishram Ghats).
This reform is expected to:
- Simplify the registration process
- Reduce delays in issuing death certificates
- Benefit rural and semi-urban populations
District Development Index to Reflect Local Conditions
The Chief Minister emphasized that development indices for districts should be customized based on local conditions.
He suggested separate benchmarks for:
- Industrial districts
- Agriculture-based regions
- Forest-dominated areas
This approach aims to ensure balanced and realistic development assessment across the state.
Focus on Natural Farming and Rural Housing Guidance
CM Yadav also directed promotion of natural farming practices and technical support for rural housing construction.
He emphasized:
- Encouraging sustainable agricultural methods
- Providing technical guidance for home construction in rural areas
- Promoting awareness about suitable eco-friendly building materials
Progress Under Key State Initiatives
Officials informed that several programs are showing strong progress in the state:
- Over 1.37 lakh students benefited under the Community Leadership Development Program
- More than 25,000 families identified under the campaign for denotified, nomadic, and semi-nomadic communities
- Active participation of local committees in Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign, including water body cleaning and awareness activities
- Continued training of officials under the Mission Karmayogi program
The Madhya Pradesh government is focusing on transparent governance, digital integration, and sustainable development practices. With initiatives like district-level development presentations, CCTV expansion, and eco-friendly housing promotion, the state aims to strengthen both administrative efficiency and citizen participation in governance.
