Ujjain: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced a massive ₹5,657 crore development package for the regions of Indore, Ujjain, and Sanwer during a major event held in Chandrawati Ganj, Sanwer constituency.
The Chief Minister stated that the initiatives mark a historic moment for the state and reflect the government’s commitment to rapid infrastructure-led growth.
He emphasized that the development projects are aligned with the vision of expanding connectivity and boosting economic growth across Madhya Pradesh.
₹2,935 Crore Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Four-Lane Corridor
The highlight of the event was the foundation stone laying of the Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Four-Lane Corridor, a 48-km project estimated to cost ₹2,935 crore.
The corridor will:
- Connect Pitra Parvat area in Indore to the Singhasth bypass near Chintaman Ganesh Temple in Ujjain
- Improve high-speed connectivity between Indore and Ujjain
- Facilitate smoother travel for pilgrims during the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2028
- Strengthen regional trade and economic activity
The Chief Minister said the corridor will serve as a key development backbone for the emerging Indore–Ujjain metropolitan region.
He also noted that the project will indirectly link the region with the Delhi–Mumbai Economic Corridor, boosting industrial and logistics growth.

Key Benefits for Regional Development
The new corridor is expected to transform connectivity across a large metropolitan region covering approximately 16,000 sq km, including Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Dhar, and Ratlam.
Planned infrastructure integration includes:
- 6 railway junctions
- 2 airports
- 4 airstrips
- 2 national highways
Officials stated that the project will significantly reduce travel time and improve transport efficiency for both passengers and goods.
Housing and Urban Development Projects
Alongside the corridor, the state government announced major housing and urban infrastructure initiatives under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban):
- Foundation stone laid for over 42,000 houses worth ₹2,548 crore
- Inauguration and possession of 38,000 completed houses built at ₹992 crore
- Launch of 116 urban projects worth ₹446 crore
- Foundation stone for 37 additional projects worth ₹310.82 crore
These initiatives aim to strengthen urban housing and provide affordable accommodation to thousands of families across Madhya Pradesh.
₹51 Crore Support for Street Vendors under PM SVANidhi Scheme
Under the PM SVANidhi Yojana, assistance worth ₹51 crore was released for nearly 20,000 small traders.
The initiative is aimed at supporting street vendors with financial assistance to revive and strengthen small-scale urban businesses.
Launch of Helmet Safety Campaign
The Chief Minister also launched a road safety and helmet awareness campaign to reduce fatalities in road accidents.
Helmets were distributed to two-wheeler riders as part of the initiative, emphasizing the importance of safety measures for commuters.

Focus on Naxal Eradication and Rehabilitation
Dr. Yadav highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s success in becoming one of the first states to effectively reduce Naxal influence.
He said the government is actively working on:
- Eliminating Naxal activities
- Encouraging surrender and rehabilitation
- Integrating former extremists into mainstream society
This is being carried out under coordinated efforts with the central government.
Support from Central Government Leadership
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar praised the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, calling him a visionary leader driving rapid development.
He highlighted that India has made significant progress over the last 12 years under the leadership of Narendra Modi, including housing, sanitation, and rural welfare reforms.
Agricultural and Welfare Achievements
The Chief Minister also highlighted key achievements in agriculture and welfare:
- Record wheat procurement from 13.75 lakh farmers
- Payment of ₹2,625 per quintal for wheat
- Expansion of welfare schemes including direct benefit transfers
He also reiterated continued financial support for women under the Ladli Behna Yojana, with ₹1,500 monthly assistance being credited before the 15th of each month.
Religious and Cultural Development Plans
The state government reaffirmed its commitment to cultural and religious infrastructure development, including:
- Development of Shri Krishna-inspired “Vrandavan villages”
- Construction of Geeta Bhavans
- Major preparations for Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain
Officials said these initiatives aim to strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s cultural identity and pilgrimage infrastructure.
