CM Dr. Mohan Yadav Lays Foundation for ₹15.9 Crore Road Project in Indore to Boost Urban Infrastructure

Foundation stone laid for key road and sewer works in Zone 8, along with announcements of new link road and six-lane flyover to improve connectivity across Indore.

Indore: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reiterated the state government’s commitment to the “all-round development” of the state while addressing a public event held in Indore on Friday. The Chief Minister participated in a series of inauguration and foundation stone-laying ceremonies, emphasizing the government’s continuous efforts toward infrastructure expansion and public welfare.

He stated that Indore Municipal Corporation has achieved remarkable progress in development and civic welfare initiatives. The city has earned national recognition in flagship schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and the Swachhata Abhiyan.

CM Highlights 12 Years of Central Government Development

Dr. Yadav also highlighted the 12-year tenure of the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that India has achieved new milestones in development during this period.

He noted that both the state and the nation are progressing rapidly under the leadership of PM Modi. The Chief Minister added that there has been a significant increase in the number of medical colleges across the country, strengthening healthcare services and medical education infrastructure.

He further emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is continuously working across all 55 districts to improve key development indicators including education, healthcare, infrastructure, employment, and welfare schemes, ensuring that the benefits of development reach every citizen.

Foundation Stone Laid for Road and Sewer Infrastructure in Indore Zone 8

As part of the Infrastructure Development Scheme, CM Dr. Yadav performed the remote foundation stone laying for a major road and sewer line project in Ward No. 37 of Zone 8, Indore.

The project includes:

  • Construction of a road from Tulsi Nagar Pulia to Nipaniya
  • Development of primary and internal sewer lines
  • Total project cost: ₹15.90 crore (₹13.26 crore for road construction and ₹2.64 crore for sewer line works)
  • Road length: approximately 1.30 km
  • Planned width: 30 meters as per Indore Development Plan 2021

The project will include cement concrete road construction, strengthening of sewer chambers, footpath development, and shifting of electrical lines. It is expected to significantly improve connectivity and ease of transportation for residents of Tulsi Nagar, Nipaniya, Ankur Angan, Rajaram Avenue, and Mahalaxmi Nagar.

The ceremony began with the singing of “Vande Mataram,” followed by a ceremonial lamp lighting and prayers.

Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a bouquet and a Tulsi plant.

New Infrastructure Announcements for Indore

During the event, CM Dr. Yadav also announced several new infrastructure projects for Indore:

  • Construction of a 1,400-meter link road from Kanadia Road to Khajrana Road
  • Development of a six-lane flyover from the Eastern Ring Road to Robot Square
  • Estimated cost of the flyover project: approximately ₹50 crore
  • Plans to regularize unauthorized colonies in the city through structured policy measures

These announcements are part of the government’s broader urban development strategy aimed at improving traffic flow and expanding connectivity in Indore.

Benefits Distributed Under PM SVANidhi Scheme

The Chief Minister also distributed benefits under the Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Yojana to street vendors.

Two beneficiaries received symbolic cheques of ₹50,000 each:

  • Rahul Marmat
  • Jagdish Upadhyay

The scheme aims to provide financial support to small traders and strengthen self-employment opportunities.

Several senior leaders and officials attended the programme, including:

  • Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya
  • Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat
  • MP Shankar Lalwani
  • MLAs Mahendra Hardia, Madhu Verma, Ramesh Mendola, and Sumit Mishra
  • Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade
  • Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh
  • Collector Shivam Verma

The Indore event underscored the Madhya Pradesh government’s focus on integrated urban development, infrastructure expansion, and welfare-driven governance. With multiple road projects, flyovers, and welfare initiatives announced, the state leadership reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating development across all regions.
