Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has transferred five IAS officers and four IPS officers in a major administrative reshuffle following a cabinet meeting. The changes include the replacement of Collectors in Sagar, Dewas and Seoni districts, along with new Superintendents of Police (SPs) for Sagar and Dewas.
The reshuffle comes in the wake of a spurious liquor tragedy in Sagar district, where 13 people reportedly died after consuming poisonous liquor. The government has removed Sagar Collector Pratibha Pal and Superintendent of Police Anurag Sujania from their district postings.
Dilip Kumar Yadav, a 2014-batch IAS officer who was previously serving as Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, has been appointed the new Collector of Sagar. The government has also transferred Dewas Collector Rituraj and SP Puneet Gehlot, while Neha Meena has been shifted from Seoni to become the new Collector of Dewas.
Anju Arun Kumar, who was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, has been appointed Collector of Seoni. On the police side, Sanjeev Kumar Sinha has been named the new SP of Sagar, while Aditya Mishra will take charge as SP of Dewas.
Pratibha Pal Shifted from Sagar, Appointed Tourism Corporation MD
Pratibha Pal, a 2012-batch IAS officer, has been transferred from her position as Collector of Sagar district and appointed Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.
Pal took charge as Sagar Collector on April 10, 2026, and served in the district for approximately seven months. Her transfer comes after the spurious liquor tragedy that reportedly claimed 13 lives, prompting a change in the district’s administrative leadership.
In her new role, Pal will head the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. Her appointment shifts her from district administration to the management of the state’s tourism development organisation.

Dilip Kumar Yadav Appointed New Sagar Collector
Dilip Kumar Yadav, a 2014-batch IAS officer, has been appointed the new Collector of Sagar district. Before the latest reshuffle, he was serving as Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.
Yadav had earlier been removed from his position as Indore Municipal Commissioner following a contaminated-water incident in the city. He was subsequently appointed Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation.
With his latest posting, Yadav returns to district administration as the head of Sagar district. He will oversee the district administration and coordinate the implementation of government programmes and public services.
His appointment follows the removal of Pratibha Pal in the wake of the liquor-related tragedy. The change brings a new officer into the district’s top administrative position as the government reshuffles its leadership.
Neha Meena Replaces Rituraj as Dewas Collector
The state government has also changed the administrative leadership of Dewas district.
Neha Meena, a 2014-batch IAS officer who was serving as Collector of Seoni, has been transferred to Dewas and appointed its new Collector. She replaces Rituraj, a 2015-batch IAS officer who has been shifted to the state secretariat in Bhopal.
Rituraj will now serve as Deputy Secretary in the General Administration Department at the Mantralaya. His transfer moves him from district administration to a departmental assignment at the state level.
As Dewas Collector, Meena will be responsible for overseeing district administration, coordinating with government departments and monitoring the implementation of development programmes and public welfare initiatives.
Anju Arun Kumar Appointed Collector of Seoni
Anju Arun Kumar, who was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, has been appointed the new Collector of Seoni district.
She will take over the district administration following Neha Meena’s transfer to Dewas. The appointment brings an officer serving in the state secretariat into a district-level leadership role.
The changes in Seoni and Dewas form part of the wider IAS reshuffle involving five officers across district administration and state departments.
Anurag Sujania Shifted After Sagar Liquor Tragedy
The government has also reshuffled the police leadership in Sagar district following the spurious liquor tragedy.
Anurag Sujania, a 2014-batch IPS officer who was serving as Superintendent of Police of Sagar, has been removed from the district posting and appointed Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal.
Sujania’s transfer comes after the incident in which 13 people reportedly died following the consumption of spurious liquor. The government has changed both the district Collector and the SP as part of the administrative reshuffle.
Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, a 2016-batch IPS officer, has been appointed the new SP of Sagar. Before the latest order, Sinha was serving with the 14th Battalion of the Special Armed Force (SAF) in Gwalior.
He will now take charge of the district police, overseeing law-and-order responsibilities and police administration in Sagar.
Puneet Gehlot Shifted, Aditya Mishra Becomes Dewas SP
The police reshuffle also includes changes in Dewas district.
Puneet Gehlot, a 2017-batch IPS officer who was serving as SP of Dewas, has been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Bhopal as Assistant Inspector General of Police.
Aditya Mishra, who was serving as SP of Balaghat, has been appointed the new SP of Dewas. He will take charge of the district police following Gehlot’s transfer.
The changes bring new police leadership to both Sagar and Dewas, while Sujania and Gehlot have been assigned responsibilities at the state police headquarters.

Sagar Liquor Tragedy Triggers Administrative Changes
The most significant aspect of the reshuffle is the change in leadership in Sagar, where the spurious liquor incident reportedly resulted in 13 deaths. The government has replaced both the district Collector and the Superintendent of Police, appointing Dilip Kumar Yadav and Sanjeev Kumar Sinha to the respective positions.
The reshuffle also extends to Dewas, where both the Collector and SP have been replaced, while Seoni has received a new Collector. Several officers have moved from district-level assignments to positions at the Mantralaya and Police Headquarters, while others have been given charge of district administration and policing.
The changes mark a significant administrative and police reshuffle in Madhya Pradesh, with the government revising district leadership across three districts and making appointments at the state level.
