This step aims to provide farmers with fair prices and additional incentives for their produce.
Focus on Small Farmers First
The Chief Minister instructed authorities to prioritize small farmers during procurement, followed by medium and large farmers. All registered farmers on the procurement portal will have their wheat purchased in phased slots, minimizing inconvenience.
Adequate Supplies of Gunny Bags and Facilities
To ensure smooth operations:
- No shortage of gunny bags has been reported, with the state in constant coordination with the Central Government and Jute Commissioner.
- All procurement centers will be equipped with essential facilities such as electricity, drinking water, seating, shade, toilets, and parking.
- Measures will be in place to avoid long queues and ensure timely weighing of wheat.
Inspection of Weighing Centers
Before the procurement begins, all weighing centers will be thoroughly inspected. Control rooms will be set up at both state and mandi levels to monitor operations and assist farmers in case of any issues.
