Mangalore: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has appointed Seema as an Independent Director and Non-Official Director on its Board of Directors.
The appointment is effective from October 5, 2026, for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and conveyed to MRPL by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG), Government of India.

Seema is an academician with 23 years of teaching experience.
She holds degrees in Arts, Law and Education, including BA, MA, LLB and B.Ed.
Her professional areas of experience and specialisation include:

Her academic and professional background brings experience in education, law and management to the MRPL Board.
MRPL Confirms Eligibility for Board Appointment
MRPL has confirmed that Seema is not debarred from holding the office of director by any order of SEBI or any other authority.
The company has also stated that she is not related to any existing director of MRPL and meets the eligibility requirements under Section 164 of the Companies Act, 2013.
The appointment adds a Non-Official Director to the MRPL Board with an academic and legal background.
Appointment Approved by ACC
The appointment follows approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, with the decision subsequently conveyed by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
The appointment is part of the process for inducting Non-Official Directors on the boards of public sector enterprises and is subject to the applicable provisions and regulatory requirements.
