New Delhi: Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), a government-owned telecom service provider, has officially re-appointed Mr. Vishwas Pathak and Ms. Deepika Mahajan as Non-Official Independent Directors on its Board.
MTNL, which operates in the metro cities of Delhi and Mumbai, offers a range of telecom services including landline, mobile, broadband, and fixed-line connections. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
Mr. Vishwas Pathak, a seasoned corporate management professional, brings with him extensive experience across both private and public sectors. He holds degrees in M.Com, LLB, and is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (FCS). Over the years, Mr. Pathak has served on the boards of numerous companies spanning diverse sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, telecom, aviation, media, power, and banking.
Ms. Deepika Mahajan, who had previously served as a Non-Official Independent Director from November 12, 2021, until November 1, 2024, returns to the role with a wealth of governance experience and familiarity with MTNL’s strategic direction.
The reappointments are seen as a move to strengthen the company’s governance framework and reinforce its commitment to transparency and corporate excellence.
