Srinagar: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted directly with students from across the state at the Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan programme, seeking their views on how Uttarakhand can progress towards the vision of a developed state by 2047.
The programme, held at the auditorium of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University’s Chauras campus, was organised around the theme “Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand”.
Students Share Ideas on Uttarakhand’s Future
During the interaction, Dhami listened to students’ suggestions, aspirations and concerns and responded to their questions on issues connected with the state’s development. The initiative aims to create a direct channel between young people and policymakers.

The student-led vision exercise covers areas including:
- Education and employment
- Tourism and local development
- Healthcare and social development
- Technology and innovation
- Forests and environmental protection
More than 2.67 lakh students of Classes 11 and 12 had submitted essays under the related “Mere Sapno Ka Uttarakhand” campaign. A total of 2,67,744 submissions were recorded, with students presenting ideas across eight broad areas.
140 Student Ideas to Be Shortlisted
The submitted ideas are being reviewed by experts along with the Chief Minister. Around 140 of the best ideas are scheduled to be selected, with the results expected on September 16.
Selected students will get an opportunity to present their ideas before senior government officials and interact with the Chief Minister. They are also expected to receive support related to careers and competitive-examination preparation.
Youth Participation Linked to Uttarakhand’s 2047 Vision
The Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan is part of the state government’s broader effort to involve young people in discussions about Uttarakhand’s future rather than limiting development planning to government institutions.
The initiative also fits into the state’s wider emphasis on “Viksit Bharat 2047”, with Dhami recently announcing a month-long Seva Sankalp Campaign beginning September 17 that will involve students, youth, women and other sections of society in public participation, dialogue and innovation.
