2015-Batch Officers Among Those Elevated

Rankathung Vikram Ezung, Vilhousie Preseyie and Rukewelo T Mero, all belonging to the 2015 IPS batch, have been promoted to DIGP rank.

Their elevation comes as part of the regular career progression of IPS officers and strengthens the senior supervisory cadre of the Nagaland Police.

With the promotion, the three officers will now serve at the DIG level, carrying responsibilities associated with senior police administration, supervision and operational leadership.

Dr Pritpal Kaur Batra Promoted From 2016 Batch

Dr Pritpal Kaur Batra, a 2016-batch IPS officer, is the fourth officer to be promoted to DIGP rank.

Her elevation along with the three 2015-batch officers reflects the latest round of senior-level IPS promotions in Nagaland.

The promotions are significant for the state’s police administration as officers from successive batches move into higher leadership positions.

CBIC Accepts Voluntary Retirement of Bikram Singh Negi

In a separate personnel development, the CBIC has accepted the voluntary retirement request of Bikram Singh Negi, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) cadre.

His voluntary retirement came into effect from August 5, 2026.

Negi last served as an Assistant Commissioner under the CBIC before opting for voluntary retirement from government service.

Bikram Singh Negi’s Service Profile

Bikram Singh Negi is a former IRS officer belonging to the Customs & Indirect Taxes (C&IT) stream.

During his government service, he served in the post of Assistant Commissioner under the CBIC, the apex body responsible for administering India’s customs and central indirect tax framework.

The acceptance of his VR request formally brings his government service to an end with effect from August 5, 2026.

Two Separate Personnel Developments

The promotion of four IPS officers in Nagaland and the voluntary retirement of an IRS officer represent separate personnel developments in the police and revenue services.

The Nagaland promotions elevate Rankathung Vikram Ezung, Vilhousie Preseyie, Rukewelo T Mero and Dr Pritpal Kaur Batra to the DIGP rank, while the CBIC’s acceptance of Bikram Singh Negi’s VR marks his exit from government service.
