National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) successfully organized a conference on Smart Mining and Manufacturing in Bhubaneswar, with the theme “Smart Aluminium: Driving Operational Excellence through Industry 4.0.” The event brought together experts from industry, academia, and technology to discuss how digital innovation is transforming manufacturing and industrial operations.
Inaugurating the conference, Mr. Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD of NALCO, emphasized the need for adopting Industry 4.0 technologies to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. He underlined the impact of progressive government initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and support for start-ups in promoting self-reliance and driving industrial growth in India. Mr. Jagdish Arora, Director (P&T), highlighted how automation, AI, and IoT are enabling transformative value creation across the manufacturing landscape.
The event saw participation from prominent industry leaders, including Mr. Rajiv Kumar, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium Limited, who attended as a distinguished guest, and Mr. Sarajit Jha, Chief – Business Transformation & Digital Solutions at Tata Steel, who addressed the gathering virtually. NALCO’s Director (Production) Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sharma and Director (HR) Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattanayak also shared their insights during the event.
Speakers from leading organizations such as SAIL, Tata Steel, Vedanta, Deloitte India, EY-Parthenon, and McKinsey & Company contributed to panel discussions and technical sessions, addressing the latest trends in AI, data analytics, and digital transformation strategies.
