Senior IAS officer Nitin Kumar Yadav (IAS:2000:HY), currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has been elevated to the rank of Additional Secretary through an in-situ upgradation.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday, June 14, 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the move as a measure personal to Mr. Yadav. The decision involves a temporary upgradation of the post he currently holds to the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
The promotion reflects continued confidence in Yadav’s leadership and contributions within the department, especially in driving key trade and commerce policies.
