NLC India Renewables Secures 600 MW Solar Project at Jalaun Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh

Chennai: NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) for the development of 600 MW solar power projects at the Jalaun Solar Power Park in Uttar Pradesh through a competitive bidding process.

The project further strengthens NLC India’s position in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy sector and marks a key milestone in its clean energy growth strategy.

Project Scope: 600 MW Solar Development at Jalaun

The awarded project involves the development of solar power capacity within the 1,200 MW Jalaun Solar Power Park located in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh.

Key project details include:

  • Total capacity: 600 MW
  • Configuration: Two solar units of 300 MW each
  • Location: Jalaun Solar Power Park, Uttar Pradesh

The project is expected to play a significant role in boosting renewable energy generation and supporting India’s transition toward sustainable power sources.

Awarding Authority and Competitive Bidding Process

The Letter of Award was issued by Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL), a joint venture between NHPC Limited and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).

As per the regulatory filing submitted by NLC India Limited under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, the project was awarded through a tariff-based competitive bidding process, highlighting the company’s strong market competitiveness in the renewable energy segment.

Strengthening India’s Renewable Energy Push

This project win is a significant milestone in NLC India’s renewable energy expansion roadmap. It reinforces the company’s focus on scaling up clean energy capacity and enhancing its role as a leading public sector player in sustainable power generation.
